Press Delegate Resources

  • Each delegate is expected to write a one to two (1-2) page summary (including sources) of the issues present in their committee, as well as information about their assigned network, such as biases and history of the network.

Due dates for Press Position Papers are TBD. Please send your position papers to: hsmun.press@gmail.com.

Here is an example of an exemplary paper from a previous HSMUN conference.

  • Every day Delegates will start by reporting to the Press Room to discuss updates for the coming day. They will also be able to visit this room at any time to get help from a volunteer. After our morning meeting, Delegates will head to their separate committee rooms to listen to committee procedures. During this time, they should take notes on what Delegates are saying, what topics are being discussed, and other subjects in order to write a summary for each committee session in the Daily Delegate. During committee sessions, Press Delegates will also have time to conduct Press Scrums.

  • The majority of student reporting will be done through HSMUN’s newspaper, The Daily Delegate. This is a paper we publish four times during the conference, once on opening day, twice on Friday, and once on Saturday. Delegates should try to summarize to the best of their abilities as if they were reporting for the network they were assigned. Writings may also include quotes from delegates that were said during committee sessions. More details will be shared about the specifics of these articles on the first day of the conference.

Delegates should include the bias of their network in their reporting, but should NEVER write anything this attacks another delegate, uses racial/ethnic stereotypes, derogatory terms or anything that could be personally harmful or offensive.

  • During the conference, Press Delegates will have the opportunity to lead interviews and ask questions to and with their committee members. We advise Press Delegates to approach the Dias and ask for a period of time when they may ask questions to different Countries Delegates on the following day. This helps Press Delegates practice their interviewing skills while gathering more evidence for their articles.

  • Useful information to make your MUN experience great. The 2025 version will be released closer to the datet of the conference.

Network Policy Documents

This is a good starting point for your research about the topic at hand. It contains information about the topics, the perspectives of each network on the topic, as well as useful links for further investigation. Network Policy Documents for HSMUN 2025 will be released closer to the date of the conference.
